- Bob’s #20 jersey was retired by Cathedral Prep after the 2006 Super Bowl.
- In his sophomore and junior years at Iowa, Bob was given the team’s Hustle Award.
- Bob’s block of a Purdue field goal was one of the plays that enabled Iowa to go undefeated in Big Ten play in 2002.
- Bob finished his career at Iowa with 348 tackles, seven interceptions and 15.5 sacks.
- Bob wore #33 in college because #20 was not available his freshman year. When the player wearing #20 graduated, the Hawkeyes would not give it to Bob. His #33 jersey was too big a seller, and they didn’t want to get stuck with all the extra stock.
- Bob vied for much of his college career with Mike Doss of Ohio State for Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year. The two were later teammates on the Colts.
- Bob got his first NFL interception in 2005, against the Tennessee Titans.
