draft, Jonathan was rated the #21 prospect in North America.
- Jonathan’s
hockey idols were Chris Simon and Ted Nolan, two Native Americans who
had made it in the NHL.
- Jonathan is the
first member of the Cree nation to reach the NHL.
- Jonathan’s
28 goals in 2003-04 was second among NHL sophomores to Rick Nash.
- Ten of Jonathan’s
56 goals in 2005-06 were game-winners.
- In 2005-06, Jonathan
eclipsed the franchise goal-scoring mark of 44, set by Owen Nolan during
the 1999-00 campaign.
- In 2006, the Sharks
signed Jonathan to a contract that will keep him a San Jose uniform
through the end of the decade.
- Jonathan scored
a first-period goal against the Toronto Maple Leafs in his first game
on Hockey Night in Canada.
- Jonathan was selected
by the Sharks with a draft pick acquired in a trade with the Nashville
