  • Todd made just 27 outs during his senior season in high school.
  • In 1998, Todd was named Professional Athlete of the Year by the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame.
  • Todd’s 25 home runs in 1998 ranked behind only Mike Piazza (35), David Justice (28), and Darryl Strawberry (26) by an NL rookie since 1972.
  • In 1999, Todd fell one hit shy of a second cycle four times. The only player to pull off this feat since 1900 was Brooklyn's Babe Herman (in 1931).
  • In 2000, Todd became only the fifth player—the first in 63 years and the first ever in the NL—with at least 200 hits, 40 home runs, 100 RBI, 100 runs, 100 extra-base hits and 100 walks. The others were Babe Ruth (1921), Lou Gehrig (1927 & 1930), Jimmie Foxx (1932) and Hank Greenberg (1937).
  • During the 2000 season, Todd did much of his damage with the bat of Jeff Manto, a 32-ounce, 34.5-inch Louisville Slugger.
  • When Todd topped 100 extra-base hits in 2001, he became the first player in MLB history to accomplish this feat in consecutive seasons. The only other players to post two such years were Lou Gehrig and Chuck Klein.
  • In 2003, Todd became one of only six players in baseball history to record a .300 batting average, 30 HR, 100 RBI and 100 runs in five consecutive years. The others were Lou Gehrig (1929-37), Babe Ruth (1926-32), Jimmie Foxx (1932-36), Frank Thomas (1993-97) and Vladimir Guerrero (1998-2002).
  • Todd scored his 1,000th run during the 2006 season.
  • In 2007, Todd became the first player in history to hit 35 doubles in 10 seasons in a row.
  • Todd wears number 17 in honor of his favorite player, Mark Grace.
  • Todd says Robb Nen is the toughest pitcher for him to hit.
  • Todd and his family have a chocolate labrador named Abby.
  • Todd’s GPA in high school was 3.93.
  • Todd originally planned to major in veterinary medicine at Tennessee. But when he realized how time-consuming his course load would be, he switched to business management.
  • Todd's wife, Christy, is a real trooper. When they got married in 2000, he took her to a Rockies spring training fantasy camp for their honeymoon. That fall, Todd got back in her good graces when he rented a boat with a captain and cook, and they sailed around the Caribbean.
  • Todd is a big country music fan. His favorite performer is Kenny Chesney.
