  • During the 2007 playoffs, Jason recorded his 11th playoff triple-double to tie Larry Bird for second on the all-time list.
  • In 2007, Jason and Vince Carter became the first teammates to notch triple-doubles in the same game since Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen in 1989.
  • In 2007, Jason joined Wilt Chamberlain and Magic Johnson as the only players to average a triple-double in multiple playoff series.
  • Jason is one of only four players in NBA history with more than 5,000 rebounds and 7,500 assists. Magic Johnson, Oscar Robertson and Gary Payton are the others.
  • Jason was named First-Team All-NBA for the 2003-04 season.

  • In March of 1999, Jason established the Jason Kidd Foundation, which is dedicated to raising funds for children's medical research. Prior to the 1999-2000 season, he launched “Assists for Kidds,” the proceeds of which benefit his foundation. During the winter holidays, he and Joumana treat children from homeless shelters to shopping sprees at local toy stores. He also has set up basketball scholarship funds at his high school and college.
  • Jason plays a lot of golf in the offseason. His handicap is somewhere in the single digits.
  • The 2000 All-Star Game, played in his hometown of San Francisco, was a huge thrill for Jason. The leading vote-getter among Western Conference guards, he scored 11 points and dished out a game-high 14 assists.
  • After Jason broke his ankle in March of 2000, Joumana dared him to color his hair. He didn’t back down and spent the rest of the season as a blonde.
  • In the spring of 2000, McDonald’s restaurants in the Phoenix area introduced the “The Jason Kidd Burger,” which features three all-beef patties and two slices of cheese.
  • Among the favorite aliases Jason has used to hide his identity while staying in hotels on the road are Willie Mays, Will Smith, and Elmer Fudd.
  • Jason loves video games. He was among the spokesmen for NBA Live 2003 by EA Sports.
  • Jason and Joumana filed for divorce in January of 2007. They have three children together: T.J. and twins Miah and Jazelle.
