Donovan McNabb  
 

  • Donovan married his long-time girlfriend, Raquel Nurse, in the spring of 2002. The two met during his freshman at Syracuse. She is an assistant director of academic support at Villanova University.
  • Donovan is one of only four Philadelphia quarterbacks to pass for 3,000 yards in consecutive seasons. Sonny Jurgensen (1961-62), Ron Jaworski (1980-81) and Randall Cunningham (1988-90) are the others.
  • In his freshman year at Syracuse, Donovan hooked up with Marvin Harrison on a school-record 96-yard TD pass.
  • In the midst of a fourth-quarter comeback against the Jaguars early in the 2002 season, an exhausted Donovan stood over center and threw up on Hank Fraley’s back. On the next play he pulled it together and threw a perfect touchdown pass.
  • Donovan’s akle injury against Arizona in November of 2002 broke his streak of 53 consecutive starts, including the playoffs.
  • During the 2004 season, Donovan broke Joe Montana's record for comsecutive passes completed. He hit on his last 10 in a win over the Giants and then started his next game with 14 completions against the Packers.
  • Wilma McNabb used to pay her son as much as $10 per touchdown in high school. She made the money back in the winter by charging him a buck for every free throw he missed. Donovan was a bricklayer from the charity stripe.
  • One of Donovan’s biggest thrills as a kid was meeting Michael Jordan. The only word the stunned youngster could muster was “Hi.”
  • Donovan’s parents never missed a Syracuse home game. They would drive all the way from Chicago.
  • Donovan was named the Big East Conference's offensive player of the decade for the 1990s.
  • Donovan is a national spokesman for the National Diabetes Association. His father suffers from the disease, and one of his grandmothers died from it.
