Wagner, who won four straight from 1906 to 1909.
- Nomar’s .320
lifetime average heading into 2006 was the fifth highest among active
players.
- Edgar Martinez
predicted that, in his 30s, Nomar might hit .400. Ted Williams agreed,
but added that Nomar would have to boost his walk totals into triple
digits first.
- Nomar is known
for his intensity in practice. Everything he does it at game speed.
- Nomar has 20-15

Hamm on November 22, 2003. He wore a tux designed by his friend, Joseph
Abboud.

wedding was so secret that guests were not informed of its location
until the day of the ceremony.
- As a grade schooler,
Nomar’s dad would reward him with a quarter every time he got
a hit, but docked him half a buck whenever he struck out.
- To sharpen his
fielding, Nomar used to use a kid’s glove during the first few
days of spring training.
- Nomar ranks among
the all-time great Georgia Tech athletes. The list includes Kevin Brown,
Marty Marion, Kenny Anderson, Mark Price, Maxie Baughan and David Duval.
