- Yolanda was named
a Kodak Division II All-American in her one season at Florida Atlantic.
- In a game in July
of 1999, Yolanda pulled down 19 boards, one more than the total of Sacramento’s
opponent that night, the New York Liberty.
- Yolanda was selected
to play in the inaugural WNBA All-Star Game in 1999.
- Yolanda has spent
every off-season since 2002 playing for UMMC Ekateinburg in Russian.
In her first season, she led the team to the EuroLeague Championship.
- During Game 4 of
the 2005 WNBA Finals, a fan threw something on to the court. Yolanda
made a beeline to the scorer’s table, stared up into the crowd
and yelled, “Don’t be stupid.”
- After the Monarchs
2005 title, Wheaties issued a special commemorative package honoring
the team.
- Yolanda is often
compared to Alonzo Mourning or Karl Malone, but she most admires the
all-around game of Scottie Pippen.
- Yolanda’s
favorite type of music is R&B.
- Yolanda plans to
pursue a career in law enforcement after her playing days are over.

fan of “The Andy Griffith Show.” She watches it every morning.
- Yolanda was immortalized
as part of a 12-poem collection called Hoop Queens written
by children's author and photographer Charles R. Smith Jr. The poem
dedicated to her is called “Double Trouble.”
